Turn concepts into creations with the 5 best 3D printing in Zurich
As someone who’s been fascinated and curious about 3D printing, I’ve spent quite some time looking around our city. I did this in hopes of bringing my creativity to life (without hurting my wallet, of course).
And guess what? I found some of the best 3D printing services in Zurich.
These spots are popular for their innovation, creativity, and precision. In fact, they’re home to the most cutting-edge providers in the industry, which means you’re not just getting services, but you’re also exposed to a lot of experts and tech leaders.
And if you’re here, chances are, you’re also looking for the best one in the city. Well, lucky for you, I’ve listed my top picks below.
How much do 3D printing services cost in Zurich? 3D printing services in Zurich typically cost CHF 10 to CHF 20 for small models and prototypes. These prices vary based on the materials used, the complexity of the piece, and the quantity of pieces required. |
1. 3D-Druckerei – Teil3

Address: Vulkanstrasse 120
Contact: [email protected]
Operating Hours:
- Monday to Friday: 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM
Teil3 is a crowd favourite because of the tech they use, which was also one of the things that caught my eye. They use three methods: fused deposition modelling (FDM), stereolithography (SLA), and selective laser sintering (SLS) with PA12 Nylon.
FDM melts thermoplastic layer by layer to build your project, and is ideal for affordable prototypes or sturdy concept models. It utilises high-quality materials (PLA, PETG, TPU), which significantly contribute to the mobility and flexibility of my model.
Then there’s SLA, a resin-based method that perfects even the smallest parts. This was a favourite among clients due to the smooth finish. I’d also like to mention that this process isn’t offered by many other firms, so seeing it on their website played a significant role in my decision-making.
A model that withstands wear and load is important. This is where SLS comes in – it’s an engineering-grade process that Teil3 uses to produce durable, mechanical parts. I saw online reviews praising SLS, making it a crowd favourite (mine, too!).
And with all the great tech comes a price. SLS becomes costly and may require longer lead times, depending on the project’s difficulty and quantity.
Highly recommended
“Very simple and clear quotation and ordering process, flawless communication, speedy processing and delivery – parts perfect.”

2. 3Dexperts.ch

Address: Sonnentalstrasse 8, 8600 Dubendorf
Contact: +41 (0)76 577 73 53
Operating Hours:
- Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
I chose to work with 3Dexperts.ch because they offered more than just printing. They provided customers with an end-to-end solution that included 3D scanning, computer-aided design (CAD), part optimisation, and final finishing.
But again, the tech was one of the deciding factors here. They use a dual FDM printer: the Original Prusa i3 MK3S+ and D600 PRO. The Original Prusa i3 MK3S+ is known for printing with a 50-micron resolution, which makes it top-tier in terms of part precision.
Then they have the D600 PRO, which features a 600 x 600 x 600 mm build area – perfect for larger prototypes or big-scale projects. However, not everyone needs high-end machines like this, as they can be expensive.
Now, for the materials, theirs is probably one of the most diverse I’ve seen. They have PLA, PETG, carbon-fibre blends, ABS-ESD, and flexible TPU. This allowed me to choose for the durability of my model (most clients use PLA and PETG).
My prints came out smooth and accurately detailed. I didn’t need the D600 PRO for now, but soon, when I start printing large-scale models, I’ll definitely consult with 3Dexperts.ch again.
Dimensional accuracy was very consistent
“I ordered three times with them over the last couple weeks, and was able to quickly iterate over an enclosure concept. Printing and shipping times were incredibly quick, and I was very happy with the quality of the printed parts. Dimensional accuracy was very consistent across the print job, allowing me to fine tune my design over just three iterations.”

If you need 3D printing done, this is THE place to go in Switzerland
“I needed some small items 3D printed. They were able to offer advice on improvements to the print settings to get the best result. The print was done within 1 working day and then arrived by SwissPost the following day. The quality was better than expected and the price was extremely fair. All managed online.
No need to be local, they can ship the output to you. No need to be technically minded, they can guide you through the design process and then take care of the rest.”

3. BLU 3D

Address: Sihlquai 253, 8005
Contact: +41 44 500 22 33
Operating Hours:
- Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM
If you ever visit Zurich and need a fast and reliable company for 3D printing, BLU 3D should be at the top of your list. I found them when I was rushing to print a prototype (I know, procrastination at its finest!), and thankfully, they helped me push through.
Their setup uses the BLU-3 FDM printer — a precision-driven machine. It features auto-bed levelling, a dual-gear extruder, and filament sensors. I’m amazed to know that these features help ensure stability and reduce the likelihood of failed prints.
What makes the printer especially eye-catching is the balance between simplicity and performance because it doesn’t overcomplicate the process, but still gives you output that can compete with higher-end firms.
In terms of materials, they offer a variety of choices, including wood filament. The wood filament gave my model a natural, carved-wood appearance.
However, you need to add varnish or stain to make it look more realistic. The idea of buying additional finishing products and doing some extra work afterwards is a hassle.
Their services are great for beginners and small-scale projects, but might not be suitable for clients who need numerous model copies.
Very uncomplicated and quick process
“Super friendly contact and committed to sharing their 3D printing experience, plus a very uncomplicated and quick process. I’ll be happy to order again in the future.”

4. Drei-de

Address: Industriestrasse 20, 8304 Wallisellen
Contact: +41 (0)55 505 66 27
Operating Hours:
- Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 6:00 PM
I’ve seen online reviews of Drei-de mentioning that they offer a wide range of services. While most companies do the same, what caught my eye were the vacuum casting, DfAM (design for additive manufacturing), and binder jetting.
For one of my projects, architectural mockups (miniature buildings) were needed, and this is where all three processes stood out.
For vacuum casting, Drei-de created a master mould from my original print and reproduced it, which is perfect for mass-producing copies of my work. This was a cost-effective process when I needed multiple pieces for a bigger project.
Drei-de also uses binder jetting to bind materials layer by layer into a solid structure. It’s ideal if you have colourful prints or patterns that you want to showcase through your models.
Meanwhile, their DfAM enabled me to redesign aspects of my model, offering greater flexibility in terms of shape, movement, and structure. Previous clients also agree that DfAM saved them time and cost.
However, for beginners, DfAM and binder jetting may be overwhelming. DfAM focuses on geometry optimisation and printability, while binder jetting involves detailed post-processing steps. Both demand technical knowledge and hands-on experience.
Exceeded my expectations in every way
“The professionalism and technical expertise of the entire team are outstanding. In particular, the individual advice tailored to my needs has contributed significantly to the success of my previous projects. Drei-de knows how to solve complex technological challenges in a clear and comprehensible way, always taking current trends and developments in digital transformation into account. The collaboration was always transparent, efficient, and characterized by the highest quality (even for orders with great time pressure). I can recommend drei-de without reservation and see them as a reliable partner for future orders.”

5. CHROMOS Group AG

Address: Niederhaslistrasse 12, 8157 Dielsdorf
Contact: +41 44 855 50 00
Operating Hours:
- Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM
I had a few products made with CHROMOS, and they were like a full-scale engineering partner. They have a few outstanding techs up their sleeve: Desktop Metal Studio System 2, BigRep large-format FDM printer, and Mimaki 3DUJ printer.
I had a batch of parts for prototyping, and the team used the Desktop Metal Studio System 2 for a seamless workflow. Meaning, I no longer needed third-party vendors for printing, debinding, and sintering!
On the other hand, the BigRep large-format FDM printer is used for larger casing prototypes. It can handle models up to a metre wide, which is ideal if you want furniture parts, full-sized enclosures, or even architectural pieces.
Lastly, they have the Mimaki 3DUJ printer, which was a crowd favourite. It boasts over 10 million colours, with full CMYK+white and clear resins. This makes the piece look professionally painted (it saved me days of manually painting them myself!).
Their services are great, but CHROMOS is a small-scale company, which means they may have longer lead times, especially during peak seasons when clients and projects accumulate.
A fantastic company!
“Chromos ag is a fantastic company! Their website is visually appealing and easy to navigate. The customer support is excellent, and they provide prompt solutions to any issues. I’m really impressed with their service!”
