On top of that, they stock a carefully chosen selection of premium bikes and apparel from top brands like Specialized S-Works and MAAP.
But keep in mind, their rentals are limited to premium road bikes, and you can’t use them for races or take them abroad.

Professional, friendly and honest service
Professional, friendly and honest service. They helped me a couple times with the bike wheels, and today when they couldn´t offer support with a specific piece (internal hub they are not specialized in), they openly disclosed without trying to charge for a solution that wouldn’t be the best for me. It´s not exactly cheap, but considering the location, the quality and speed of service, totally fair and recommended.

This is an excellent bike shop
A shout out to Häge and Roger and the rest of the team at Backyard that assisted me in the purchase of my first gravel bike two months ago! I would’ve written a review sooner, but have been too busy hitting the trails. I appreciated all the great advice and assistance to help find the perfect bike for me and also the extra effort in making sure I was familiar with newer features like the electronic shifters. This is an excellent bike shop with the added benefit of being just down the street from my office.

3. Bike Outlet velomaerkte.ch

Website: https://velomaerkte.ch/Velo_zuerich.php
Address: Bleicherweg 52
Contact: 043 344 57 88
Hours: Tuesday to Friday 11:00 AM-6:30 PM, Saturday 10:00 – 5:00 PM
Finding a good deal on a brand-new bike is totally possible if you know where to look. Bike Outlet focuses on discounted new bicycles and e-bikes from around 20 top brands, offering outlet prices while still providing full manufacturer warranties.
In fact, the store has one of the biggest in-stock selections in town, so you can test ride bikes and even take one home the same day.
One customer told us they picked up their first city commuter from a setup like this, and the money they saved let them upgrade to a much better lock and helmet.
On the flip side, because they rely on clearance inventory, certain models can sell out quickly and what’s available can change a lot.
You might also find that some newer staff aren’t able to answer super detailed technical questions.

Easy test rides are possible
Great shop with a huge selection of all kinds of bikes (road bikes, mountain bikes, e-mountain bikes, city bikes, etc.) and accessories. Easy test rides are possible. Friendly staff and great prices.
I’m totally happy with my new e-bike 😊

Bought a great bike there after searching all over town all day
Bought a great bike there after searching all over town all day. I had to think about it for a while and the team didn’t pressure me and offered any kind of support necessary. Once I decided they got it ready on the spot and I was riding it that night. Super happy with my experience, highly recommend.
Tons of gravel options too!! Lots of places were sold out or back ordered.

Address: Schlossgasse 11
Contact: +41 77 426 18 93

Their retail area stocks solid brands like Merida and BMC, too, giving both commuters and road cyclists plenty of good choices.
However, it’s worth noting that diagnosing complicated issues can sometimes take more than one visit, and the same problem might pop up again.
Also, when things get busy, even basic repairs might take over a week, so it helps to plan if you need your bike back quickly.

They were very friendly and found the best fit for me
I came to guys to buy a new bike, they were very friendly and found the best fit for me for a very reasonable price (sporty Merida under 1k).
They helped with quick repairs throughout next months, as well. Guys are professionals and they left a very good impression on me.
I highly recommend Veloschmiede in Zurich for any bike-related questions, I am sure they will find a solution.

I couldn’t be happier with the experience
I’m absolutely delighted with the service at Veloschmiede. I visited a few months ago just to get some advice on which bike to buy, and from the very first moment, Michael and his team were incredibly helpful and friendly. Last week, I had the bike I finally decided on assembled there, and not only did they show it to me with great care, but they also took the time to explain every detail thoroughly. I couldn’t be happier with the experience. Highly recommended, from now on, this will be my official bike workshop!

Patiently explained all the features again
Comprehensive advice from Nour Stalder. And when I picked up the e-Bike he patiently explained all the features again, and helped me setting up the app. The shop works well. Considering they have been around for a hundred years they feel quite young 😊
