The 5 Best Yoga Classes in Zurich to Help You Find Your Flow

Teacher Expertise and Training: I gave priority to studios with highly certified international faculty who blend traditional movement lineages with modern, anatomy-based sequencing.  Studios running rigorous teacher training programmes naturally stood out.

Amenities and Accessibility: I weighed high-end amenities and serene lounge areas near major transit points like the Zurich Hauptbahnhof. A proper urban oasis should pair premium equipment with easy access to public transport for busy professionals.

English-Friendly and Varied Classes: Given the diverse international crowd, I favoured centres running a good chunk of their schedule in English. I also looked for varied levels that cover everything from athletic flows to restorative healing sessions.

Reviews and Insurance Accreditation: I dug into recent feedback for welcoming energy and full transparency on long-term subscription costs.  Studios with health insurance accreditation scored higher, since they let practitioners reclaim part of their fees.

The fast-paced corporate life in Switzerland often leaves you craving a space to breathe and reconnect. That’s exactly why finding the best yoga class in Zurich matters so much.

An inclusive community is key for expat professionals who want an English-friendly spot to manage stress, or newcomers looking for a safe space to learn foundational poses.

So, I explored wellness spaces across the city to see which ones really help locals unwind. If you want to fold holistic health into your routine safely, here are my top picks.

Great prenatal yoga experience

I have been visiting the studio for prenatal yoga class with Ndeka and I would recommend it. I would like to thank her for her shining and peaceful energy. Every class was a great time, connecting with baby, body and soul and creating space when everything felt tense and heavy. She was delivering an energizing and at the same time very calming practice. Thank you again for this.

Wonderful studio with passionate teachers

A yoga studio with so much heart and passion! There are many different classes to choose from every day, so there’s something for everyone. I visit the studio several times a week because the yoga classes, the warm and loving yoga teachers, and the whole atmosphere give me so much strength and energy. I truly love it and can wholeheartedly recommend it to everyone. Thank you for being there!

2. Planet Yoga

Hours: Daily, 9:00 AM to 8:00 PM

Planet Yoga is a strong fit for advanced practitioners working toward technical milestones. It has been Yoga Alliance certified since 2004, which gives it solid credential value.

What stood out to me is its weekend masterclasses for complex movements like deep inversions. If you already work with personal trainers in Zurich, these advanced classes can be a smart way to improve mobility and body control.

The studio also has two fully equipped rooms and live streaming subscriptions for remote practice. It’s easy to reach too, sitting just a two-minute walk from tram stops near Sihlcity.

The main drawback is that active subscriptions are strictly personal. They can’t be shared or transferred.

Pros

  • Full-service comfort lounge amenities
  • Excellent urban transit accessibility
  • Robust social welfare discounts
  • Flexible membership extension options

Cons

  • Non-transferable membership subscriptions

Sanapurna Ayurveda & Yoga is a strong choice if you want wellness support that goes beyond movement. The academy has a 25-year teaching history and combines daily yoga with recovery-focused systems like Traditional European Naturopathy.

I like that its teacher programmes include Polyvagal Theory, giving students a clearer way to understand stress and nervous-system responses.

If you’re looking beyond high-intensity workouts or pilates studios in Zurich, their advanced courses can help you build strength and mobility at a safer pace.

Best yoga studio in Zurich

Wonderful studio in the heart of Zurich. Poonam and everyone working there welcome you with warmth and genuine interest. Every yoga class is a unique experience and makes you feel amazing. Highly recommendable! For me, the best studio in Zurich.

Relaxing yin and sound experience

Sanapurna Ayurveda & Yoga has a lovely atmosphere; you feel good as soon as you walk in. Renata’s Yin & Sound class is very relaxing and perfect for a Sunday end of day. The yin practice helped me slow down, and the sound journey with crystal bowls, handpan, and other instruments brought a deep sense of calm. I left feeling lighter and fully relaxed! Highly recommend.

The studio is Qualitop-accredited for health insurance recognition and also includes spa-style amenities, such as a mixed sauna, steam bath, and quiet relaxation lounge.

A friend who works nearby invited me to an English-led session, and the extras made the visit feel polished. Fresh towels, botanical products, and app-based check-in all added to the convenience.

Great option for Zurich visitors

Booked in for a couple of classes with Bodyart while in Zurich for a week. There are a lot of options to choose from, and it’s easy enough to book. The studio is based inside the Indio gym, and if you have a yoga class booked you also get a towel, water bottle, lock for the locker, and access to the sauna. Super full classes and something a bit different. Would certainly go back next time I am in Zurich.

Clean studio and nice experience

Today I attended a Slow Hatha Flow class and had a nice experience. The studio is centrally located in the old town of Zurich, modern and very clean. During the practice, you can sometimes hear some noise from people training nearby, but it wasn’t too distracting for me. Also, if you are coming by bicycle, note that there isn’t an easy parking spot at the front of the studio.

5. Bikram Yoga Zurich

bikram-yoga-zurich

Website: bikramyoga.ch

Address: Grüngasse 21

Contact: +41 43 243 35 80 | [email protected]

Hours: Available 24/7

Bikram Yoga Zurich is a good fit if you prefer the intensity of a heated room. The independent, owner-managed studio focuses on a traditional 90-minute sequence rooted in classical Indian methods.

Their classes combine the classic 26 postures with 30 advanced options in progressive sessions. They also host seasonal challenges twice a year, which can help regular students stay disciplined.

I like their flexible booking policy. Registered students can cancel online up to five minutes before class starts. Newcomers can also try one class for a small fee before committing.

The main drawback is language. Since the studio is in a German-speaking region, not every class is guaranteed to be taught in English.

Pros

  • Risk-free introductory trial classes
  • Generous first-time membership credits
  • Ultra-short cancellation windows
  • Flexible membership suspension allowances

Cons

  • English language limitations

Welcoming and accommodating teachers

I liked both the atmosphere of the packed evening classes and the calmness of the early morning class, with way fewer people. All the teachers I met were super welcoming and accommodating, and even though some of the classes I attended were not marked as EN on the schedule, the teacher made sure to explain the first set in English and the second set in Swiss German. Thank you very much and I look forward to coming back next time I am in Zürich!

Excellent atmosphere and dedicated teachers

I practiced Bikram Yoga at this studio back in 2017 and returned this year after an 8-year break. I was welcomed very warmly and am truly glad to be back. The atmosphere in the classes is excellent, and it’s clear that Stefan and Steffen take great care of the studio. Every class is led by a qualified and dedicated teacher.
