Top 5 storage spaces in Zurich that’ll keep your clutter safe and out of sight
Closets overflowing? Suitcases doubling as furniture? You’re not alone. Zurich’s compact living has turned “creative storage” into a daily survival skill.
But there’s only so much Tetris you can play before your home becomes a chaotic treasure hunt. At some point, you need space to breathe and walk.
That’s why renting storage space in Zurich feels like unlocking secret square meters. Your belongings stay safe, while your living space finally looks like a home.
How much do storage spaces cost in Zurich? Storage spaces in Zurich typically cost between CHF 30 and CHF 150 per month. However, the cost may vary depending on the unit size, location, and features like climate control or 24/7 access. Many providers also offer discounts for long-term rentals. |
1. placeB

Address: Hohlstrasse 192, 8004
Contact Details: +41442739191
Business Hours:
- Open 24 Hours Daily
We found placeB to be the most tech-forward and probably the most convenient storage solution we’ve used in Zurich. With over 50 locations across Switzerland, including several in the city, we never felt we had to travel far to drop things off.
What impressed us most was the fully app-based setup: no keys, no paperwork, no staff interaction unless you want it. We loved unlocking our unit, the lift, and even the front door straight from our phone, with 24/7 access anytime we needed.
Their unit sizes range from 1 m³ to 50 m³, making it easy to start small and resize as our needs change. The flexibility is unmatched, where you can cancel or adjust your rental within 7 days, and penalty-free.
Pricing was fair and competitive, with rates ranging from CHF 10 to CHF 40 per m³, depending on location and duration. We even tested their best-price guarantee by showing a competitor’s rate, and they matched it instantly.
The only catch? Since everything runs through the app, if your phone dies or your internet drops, you’ll need their support team to unlock your unit.
24/7 access via app works well
“Good storage location – price seems reasonable for the location. 24/7 Access via App works well once you figure out the outside elevator with the place-b sign is not the elevator the app actually opens.”

Very centrally and conveniently located in Zurich
“Very practical storage with compartments of all sizes for rent. Is very centrally and conveniently located in Zurich. Super flexible, the customer service people were very helpful. Gladly again.”

2. MyPlace

Address: Grubenstrasse 28, 8045
Contact Details: +41448257070
Business Hours:
- Monday to Friday: 8:30 AM – 5:30 PM
- Saturday: 9 AM – 1 PM
MyPlace is a dependable option that covers the city well. It’s part of a huge DACH network with over 70 locations and more than 54,000 units, so it feels like you’re dealing with a seasoned pro in the storage game.
However, unlike digital-first providers such as placeB, MyPlace relies on traditional keys or codes for access. It’s not a deal-breaker, but you might notice the difference if you’re looking for app-based control.
The variety of units is impressive, from tiny 1 m² lockers starting at CHF 15.82/month to massive XXXL spaces for commercial stock. We also liked the short minimum term, generous free rental promotions, and the option to cancel with just two weeks’ notice.
Their on-site perks add value: package acceptance, free moving help, barrier-free access, and even a “Tauschraum” swap room that encourages sustainability. The energy-monitored climate control is perfect for storing delicate items.
Security-wise, we felt comfortable knowing there’s 24/7 video surveillance, modern alarms, and even on-site guards. Night access was smooth and safe, and the well-lit corridors made it easy to navigate when retrieving items after hours.
Incredibly friendly, professional, and always ready to help
“As someone who moves a lot (8 countries and 21+ moves) I must say I had a fantastic experience with MyPlace! The facility is spotless, secure, and easily accessible, making storage completely stress-free. The staff is incredibly friendly, professional, and always ready to help. Booking was seamless, and the climate-controlled units kept my belongings in perfect condition. The music in the background is also topnotch (props to the DJ). If you need reliable, hassle-free storage, MyPlace is the way to go. Highly recommend!”

Price is very budget-friendly
“This warehouse service is really good. The environment is very clean and tidy.
And the price is very budget friendly. It has cctv everywhere to ensure the safety of the storage. It located right behind the Lidl in the building. You can drive in and type the password to enter. I strongly recommended this place.”

3. Zebrabox Zurich

Address: Leutschenbachstrasse 37, 8050
Contact Details: +41443053131
Business Hours:
- Monday to Sunday: 6 AM – 10 PM
Zebrabox brings a surprisingly premium feel to self-storage, almost like walking into a modern co-working space. The combination of motion-sensor lighting, slick digital access, and spotless corridors makes the place feel upscale rather than utilitarian.
They’ve been around since 2003, taking over Transmi Ministorage AG, which dates back to 1979. That heritage makes them the longest-running self-storage provider in continental Europe.
In fact, their Zurich flagship, located in the iconic Airgate high-rise, features over 1,500 units across six floors. It’s a secure setup too, with heated, dry, individually alarmed units under 24/7 video monitoring.
However, while the standard opening hours are 6:00 AM to 10:00 PM, true 24-hour access is only available upon request.
But the booking was quick and painless—we got a quote in minutes. We liked how flexible their rentals are, starting from just one week with a simple 14-day cancellation notice.
We were happy to see the ZebraShop on-site, offering boxes, bubble wrap, and handy extras, including free parking. For CHF 41.70 a month, plus the fact that SIQT named them a Top-3 “Best Value for Money” provider in 2025, Zebrabox offers excellent value.
Very helpful and pleasant staff
“Excellent service. I kept my belongings for 9 months with them. Access by van or in person 7 days a week using electronic keypad. A large loading bay area with hydraulic lift is very convenient. Good security with many cameras. I paid late once and they sent me a friendly reminder. Very helpful and pleasant staff when setting up and exiting the contract. I liked everything about Zebrabox.”

Online booking is very easy
“The experience with Zebrabox was really great. Online booking is very easy, there is a very wide choice of different storage boxes (in terms of size), and the instructions on how to access the building , find the keys, the storage box were very clear – going there for the first time was like a walk in the park. So if you need additional space to store your belongings I can only recommend using Zebrabox.”

4. Boxly Self-Storage

Address: Ringstrasse 16, 8600 Dübendorf
Contact Details: +41415253231
Business Hours:
- Monday to Sunday: 6 AM – 10 PM
Boxly is one of the modern storage solutions in Switzerland. Its Zurich branch in Dübendorf is easily accessible from the city. The facility is well-organised, with trolleys, goods lifts, and even customer parking ready when we arrived.
Their tech integration genuinely impressed us. App-based access allows us to control entry and view activity logs directly from our phones. It made moving things in and out seamless, especially compared to older facilities that still rely on physical keys.
Pricing is transparent, starting at CHF 33.32/month and scaling up to CHF 390/month for the largest units. The 15% long-term discounts for 3-, 6-, and 12-month rentals were a nice bonus, and switching unit sizes mid-rental was refreshingly hassle-free.
Security is another standout. Each unit is individually alarmed, with CCTV, sensor lighting, and climate control to keep belongings dry and frost-free. The on-site staff were also quick to answer our questions.
The only drawback is that you must arrange insurance for your stored items separately through your household policy or during the booking process.
Great service and excellent communication
“Very clean facility, well-secured. Air-conditioned. A lift, transport equipment on-site, and reserved parking spaces. Great service and excellent communication.
It was an emergency booking, but they saved it on the spur of the moment. I love this storage facility. I’ll be back.”
- Claudio Muscariello, Google Review
Great service, everything is clean, and the price is really good
“I was able to book very quickly and also received telephone support. For reasons of space, I even had to change the box and this was done immediately and I was guided through the hall by telephone. Great service, everything is clean and the price is really good.”

5. Bounce

Address: Zähringerstrasse 46, 8001
Contact Details: +3197010286109
Business Hours:
- Open 24 Hours Daily
Founded in 2018 in San Francisco and now based in Lisbon, Bounce has exploded into a global network with over 13,000 partner locations in 4,000 cities across 100 countries.
Booking was amazing. We picked our spot, paid CHF 3.50 per bag per day, and had free cancellation if plans changed. Whether it was a carry-on or a huge checked suitcase, the price stayed the same, which felt refreshingly fair.
One thing to remember is that pricing is per day, not per hour, so it might feel less cost-efficient if you only need a quick drop-off.
Regardless, the process couldn’t have been smoother—show confirmation at the counter, watch them tag and seal your bag, and you’re free to wander. We appreciated that our bags were kept in a secure area and that the staff handled them professionally, without rushing us.
What sold us, though, was how well-placed the Niederdorf locations are for a day in Zurich. You can explore cafés and museums or take a lake cruise without hauling luggage. We left genuinely impressed with the price, location, and peace of mind.
Has a huge room for storage, and the price is also reasonable
“I came to Zurich earlier than planned. And my hostal didn’t accept early check in. So I found this from google and really helpful for me. It is closer to Zurich HB Train station (10mins walk). They have a huge room for storage. Price is also reasonable compared to Train Station storage of you have a big luggage. Only concern is there is no individual lockers for luggages. Anyone can take someone else’s luggage. (I hope no one would do it)”
- Kalhara Perera, Google Review
Polite and well-versed in the process
“Staff was friendly and they store our luggage at their basement. Amazing process check in n out process. They were polite and well-versed in the process when we told them that we checked in fewer luggage. They guided us on how to modify the change. The store is also about 7 mins leisure walk from Zurich HB. Take lift near Migros supermarket from Zurich HB basement for closer exit.”
