No pain, more gain with the 5 best physiotherapy clinics in Zurich

Expertise and Qualifications: I focused on clinics staffed by medically trained physiotherapists experienced in treating a wide range of conditions, from musculoskeletal injuries to sports-related issues.

Individualised Treatment Plans: I chose clinics with programmes tailored to each patient’s needs, performance level, and recovery goals.

Modern Techniques and Equipment: I prioritised clinics that use advanced diagnostic and treatment tools to ensure effective, evidence-based care.

Flexible Scheduling: Physiotherapy needs don’t always fit a 9-to-5 schedule, so I included clinics that offer weekend sessions or emergency appointments.

Transparent Communication and Pricing: I looked for clinics that clearly explain treatment plans, expected outcomes, and upfront costs to avoid surprises and build trust.

Recovering from an injury or aiming to improve mobility? Physiotherapy can make a huge difference. You want more than a basic session because you need skilled professionals who understand your body and goals.

From athletes recovering from sports injuries to people dealing with long-term back pain or wanting to improve posture and overall well-being, the right clinic can make all the difference.

To help you skip the trial-and-error, we have compiled a list of the best physiotherapy clinics in Zurich. These combine expertise and care to help you reach your health goals efficiently and safely.

How much do physiotherapy services cost in Zurich?

Physiotherapy in Zurich typically costs CHF 80-150, depending on the therapist’s experience, the type of treatment, and the duration of the session.  Additional factors, such as specialised therapies or home visits, may also affect the cost.

Physio Zürich City combines medical expertise with a personal approach to rehabilitation and performance. Staffed by medically trained physiotherapists, the clinic inspires confidence, especially for clients with complex or long-standing conditions.

I like their thorough assessments, including running evaluations that analyse movement, load, and technique. This makes their services ideal for runners aiming to prevent injuries or improve performance with evidence-based guidance.

Treatment is targeted and hands-on. The team uses manual techniques to relieve pain while enhancing mobility and muscle strength. Every program is personally tailored to your performance level, taking your specific conditions into account.

The practice is also part of the GLA:D Osteoarthritis Group, demonstrating a commitment to research-backed therapies.

The owner’s extensive background adds depth to the clinic’s expertise. Since completing physiotherapy studies in 2002, they have earned a CAS in sports physiotherapy and trained in different key areas.

It includes jaw physiotherapy, dry needling, and balance therapy. There’s also scoliosis treatment and Pilates. Most recently, they expanded into pelvic floor therapy, which I find especially useful.

One limitation is that the clinic focuses on planned therapy rather than urgent or emergency care.

Pros

  • Medically trained physiotherapists
  • Conducts running evaluations for clients
  • Tailored training programs
  • Offers specialised therapies
  • Part of GLA:D Osteoarthritis Group

Cons

  • Focuses on planned therapy rather than urgent care

My sessions addressed my specific issues perfectly

“I had an absolutely outstanding experience with the physiotherapy I received here. From start to finish, everything was professional, effective, and genuinely focused on my well-being. My sessions addressed my specific issues perfectly — I felt understood, supported, and noticed real improvement.

A special thank you to Frank Arends, whose expertise, patience, and clear guidance made all the difference. He tailored the treatment exactly to my needs and explained everything in a way that was easy to follow. I truly felt in the best hands.

I can’t recommend this place enough — if you’re looking for physiotherapy that really works and a team that genuinely cares, this is the place to go!”

I no longer experience that back pain, even after long workdays!

“I had a great experience at this physiotherapy center. I came in with lower back pain, and Anna-Fleur helped me a lot! She first relieved the pain through massage and then created a personalized exercise plan to strengthen my back muscles and improve flexibility. With her help I no longer experience that back pain, even after long workdays! And my flexibility has also significantly improved. The center has all required equipment for exercises. I highly recommend this place and especially Anna-Fleur!”

Beyond Physio offers comprehensive physical therapy services across two convenient Zurich locations — one in the heart of the city at Jelmoli and another in Altstetten Letzigrund.

What sets the clinic apart is its team of experienced therapists who cover the entire spectrum of physiotherapy. Beyond standard treatments, clients can access specialised therapies such as cold therapy, infrared therapy, and EMS.

These services address recovery, rehabilitation, and performance needs that conventional physiotherapy alone may not fully resolve.

A standout feature is the partnership with Holmes Place in Jelmoli, one of Zurich’s most beautiful fitness studios. Here, clients can also undertake medical training therapy (MTT) personalised to their performance level and specific conditions.

Beyond Physio is deeply involved with the local health and sports community. They have partners, including Physio Swiss and Floorball Zurich Lioness. There’s also BOSADO, LIONSOUL, and Zurich Renegades.

A minor drawback is that some specialised therapies may require advanced scheduling due to a high patient volume.

Pros

  • Has two convenient Zurich locations
  • Covers the full spectrum of physiotherapy
  • Offers specialised therapies
  • Has a partnership with Holmes Place

Cons

  • Need for advanced scheduling

Now I am back to being myself again

“I was super lucky to have Gleinner Medina as my physiotherapist, because I had a twisted ankle and I was not able to dance or even walk properly. Gleinner was able to fix my ankle in just a few sessions and I can dance again! He did a mixture of exercises, massage and he even used a dry needle that released all the pain I had in my left leg and help me recover my ankle again after two months of pain. Now I am back to be myself again and this would not have been possible without his help. On my last appointment I had a lumbar issue too and he was able to fix it with osteopathy. I was very impressed of how knowledgeable and resourceful he is and how fast he could cure my pain. I also felt very comfortable as he speaks perfect Spanish which is a plus when you come from Spain or a Latin country. Muchas gracias Gleinner, you are the best!”

It’s almost like personal training, but much better

“Always top-notch! Why? The goal is to return to everyday life as pain-free as possible to prevent further problems. The range of services offered is much broader than at other physiotherapy centers, depending on the specific problem, from manual treatment and acupuncture to medical strength training. The use of all the fitness equipment is specifically designed to reduce problem areas in the future. Adam always knows the right training approach for each client; it’s almost like personal training, but much better, since I felt incapable of anything after my accident. His excellent social skills, good training, flexibility in appointments, and courteous manner encourage me to practice diligently.”

Physio Prime is a modern physiotherapy clinic in Zurich that delivers evidence-based care backed by strong medical and sports partnerships.

Located near Zurich Hardbrücke, it’s an easy choice for both everyday clients and active individuals focused on recovery and performance.

What really stands out is the range of services offered beyond conventional physiotherapy. Alongside standard treatments, Physio Prime provides shockwave therapy, medical training therapy (MTT), and back checks.

They also offer manual therapy and dry needling. I like how these therapies don’t just target pain, but focus on correcting underlying movement issues to support lasting results.

A minor drawback is the absence of hydrotherapy or pool-based rehabilitation, which may be important for some patients.

Still, a defining feature is the clinic’s medical partnership with Med Prime, which adds an extra layer of confidence for clients wanting a holistic approach. Also, these are supported by medical studies and professionals.

The clinic also works closely with sports clubs, doctors, and hotels. They are also partners with Med Prime, Velocity, and Grasshopper Club Zurich.

Pros

  • Evidence-based physiotherapy
  • Convenient location near Zurich Hardbrücke
  • Wide range of services
  • Close collaboration with sports clubs and doctors
  • Partners with Velocity and Grasshopper Club Zurich

Cons

  • No hydrotherapy or pool-based rehabilitation available

Just over one year on, I have regained most of my movement

“I joined the rehab prime physiotherapy team, roughly a year ago, in September 2019.

Having suffered severe loss of movement in both the right and left arms, both hands and the fine motoricno toric ( caused by an infection in my neck spine vertebrae 2 to 6, and three subsequent emergency operations )… I felt glad to have survived, and yet frustrated and depressed to be faced with the challange of partial paralysis!

The team at rehab prime physio has been nothing short of spectacular! After an initial detailed evaluation, it became evident that we would be spending a lot of time together…

… And that we did, in an array of treatments ranging from practical exercise, stretching, electrolysis, cupping, needling, vibration/ultrasound, Et Cetera. The program was both varied and stimulating, kept me on my toes, but most of all it kept me motivated!

Just over one year on, I have regained most of my movement, confidence and humour! Truly thankful”

My physical condition has achieved a great improvement

“My physiotherapy with Sophie helps me go back to normal life. I have a very severe back pain which also affects my leg and foot. Thanks to these several months of training with Sophie, my physical condition has achieved a great improvement compared to the beginning. Now, I am very confident that I can totally recover in the near future. Thanks for Sophie’s amazing support!”

Physiozentrum is a clinic that combines the full spectrum of physiotherapy, massage, and medical rehabilitation in one highly accessible space. Right next to Zurich’s main transport hub, it’s an easy option for clients.

What I really like is how seamlessly everything works under one roof. This consistency is especially valuable for longer recovery plans, where continuity truly matters.

The clinic is part of the largest physiotherapy provider in Switzerland, with an impressive 5,273,000 treatments performed since 2012 — a scale that genuinely inspires confidence.

I also appreciated their early introduction of physical distancing during the COVID-19 pandemic. They started video consultations, a measure that proved successful and continues to reassure patients today.

Another standout is their flexibility. Physiozentrum offers home visits or treatment in care facilities for patients recovering from illness, major surgery, or living with disabilities.

When prescribed by a doctor, basic health insurance covers a CHF 30 travel allowance, which is a thoughtful and practical benefit.

However, the clinic does not offer specialised therapies such as shockwave therapy or dry needling. This may be important for patients seeking advanced pain management or sports-focused treatment options.

Pros

  • Highly accessible location
  • Wide range of services
  • Therapies are ideal for long-term recovery plans
  • Part of Switzerland’s largest physiotherapy provider
  • Over 5.27 million treatments since 2012
  • Offers video consultations
  • Provides home visits and treatment in care facilities

Cons

  • Does not offer shockwave therapy or dry needling

Every session with her brings real, lasting relief

“I have been going to Karin for massage for multiple years now — because she is also a physiotherapist, she has an incredible understanding of the body and seems to instantly know exactly where to focus. Her ability to massage with a looooot (and I do mean a lot) of pressure is something truly special — it’s rare to find someone who can massage at that depth with such precision and effectiveness and for such a long time. Every session with her brings real, lasting relief of the trigger points and she is extremely professional and by far the best masseur I have ever been to. Cannot recommend her enough!”

From the first appointment, I felt well taken care of

“I went to Karin Hanne for physiotherapy and massage for my Hallux valgus. She is very professional, competent, and very friendly. From the first appointment, I felt well taken care of. Karin took the time to explain how my foot works, what causes the pain, and what I can do to improve it. Her treatments are effective, and she creates a warm, supportive atmosphere. I had an excellent experience with her and can highly recommend her to anyone looking for physiotherapy or massage!”

Physio Station is a well-established physiotherapy provider that offers tailored treatments for a wide range of musculoskeletal, rheumatological, and neurological conditions.

What I really like is how structured yet flexible their approach feels. The physiotherapists use innovative techniques and modern equipment to adapt every session to your individual needs.

Whether the goal is easing pain or improving overall function, each treatment feels purposeful and well-thought-out. This is reassuring if you’re navigating a longer recovery plan.

The clinic also provides specialised services you don’t always see elsewhere. These include respiratory therapy, pregnancy therapy, and jaw (TMJ) therapy, making it a great choice for more complex or unique needs.

I also appreciate their website, which includes detailed “clinical pictures” showing common symptoms and conditions. It’s a handy resource to help you understand your own situation and decide whether physiotherapy could help.

A minor drawback is that the clinic does not offer hydrotherapy or pool-based rehabilitation, which may be important for patients seeking low-impact recovery options.

Pros

  • Tailored treatments for a wide range of conditions
  • Innovative techniques and modern equipment
  • Offers specialised therapies
  • Informative website

Cons

  • No hydrotherapy or pool-based rehabilitation

Completely new and well-equipped location

“Perfect physio to go for athletes. Really nice, completely new and well-equipped location. After struggling with various sports injuries (running) for quite a while, I started therapy with Antonia Riggauer who is a passionate and extremely competent physio therapist and a super friendly person. As she‘s athlete herself, you won‘t get annoying advice to just quit training but by thorough anamnesis she develops tailored therapy strategies and responds to personal needs and wishes. Physio with Antonia helped me so much in recovery from injury and to get stronger during following training. Full recommendation!!!”

I am finally pain-free again after a long time

“I was very, very satisfied with my physiotherapy and my friendly and knowledgeable therapist, Giacomo. He immediately identified the cause of my pain, and after two prescriptions, I am finally pain-free again after a long time. The atmosphere is very pleasant, and all the staff are friendly. Appointments are very easy to book online. I highly recommend Physio Station!”
