And to help you avoid the hassle, we’ve compiled the best ones in the city so you don’t have to.
How much does a van rental cost in Zurich?

1. Europcar Zurich

Address: Josefstrasse 53, 8005
Contact Details: +41442715656
Business Hours:
- Monday to Friday: 7 AM – 12 PM and 1 PM – 6 PM
- Saturday: 7 AM – 12 PM
- Sunday: 8 AM – 11 AM and 6 PM – 8 PM
Witnessing Europcar in action at its Zurich operation made it clear why it has remained at the top for decades. Founded in Paris in 1949 and in Switzerland since 1973, it now operates in over 140 countries with 3,835 locations.
Their van selection is impressively fresh, with all vehicles averaging under six months old. We had our pick from compact delivery vans to premium models like the Mercedes V-Class and the VW Caravelle, and the difference in comfort was noticeable on longer drives.
Booking was easy via their app, and we loved how transparent the pricing was. The weekday transporter promo starting at CHF 84/day is a steal if your schedule’s flexible, and the 24/7 return at Zurich Airport saved us a lot of stress.
What stuck with us was that they run over 215,000 vehicles worldwide, yet our Zurich pickup felt personal and unrushed. The staff walked us through features and shared road tips.
However, we’ve seen and heard of disputed post-return damage charges, which sometimes appear days later. We snapped photos at pickup and drop-off just in case, and we’d recommend you do the same to avoid any surprises.
No problems or issues from start to finish
“I’ve rented many cars over the years and the Europcar office at Josefstrasse 53 in Zurich is the best rental car office I’ve ever encountered. The staff was extremely professional and competent and I had no problems or issues from start to finish. With so many rental car agencies trying to cheat and take advantage of you, I was expecting the same there, but it never happened. Many thanks to them for their integrity and honesty.”

2. SIXT Zurich

Address: Pfingstweidstrasse 3, 8005
Contact Details: +41848884444
Business Hours:
- Monday to Friday: 6:30 AM – 8 PM
- Saturday: 6:30 AM – 6 PM
- Sunday: 8 AM – 4:30 PM
SIXT has been around since 1912, starting in Germany with just a handful of cars. It now operates in over 100 countries with about 2,000 branches. Its Zurich footprint is strong, with convenient locations perfect for quick pickups.
Their lineup is where they shine, models like the Mercedes-Benz Vito Tourer and the more spacious V-Class Long. Both came with driver-assist tech, parking sensors, and a clean, almost showroom-fresh feel thanks to their short 7–8 month fleet cycle.
We appreciated the ability to book a specific model and adjust our reservation through the Sixt App without any fuss. Having options for one-way rentals and cross-border trips adds real flexibility, especially for longer journeys into neighbouring countries.
However, their AI-driven “Car Gate” inspection system automatically takes before-and-after photos. While clever, it’s also sparked disputes when mismatched images result in unexpected damage charges, something to be cautious about.
Still, what impressed us most was how the entire rental process felt upscale without being stuffy. The staff spoke multiple languages, and check-in was smooth.
Vehicles are always new and well-maintained
“SIXT at Zurich Pfingstweidstrasse has been consistently excellent across multiple rentals. The return process is always smooth and hassle-free, which is exactly what you need when rushing to catch an appointment, or running a bit late with the return. The staff, particularly Adrian, are knowledgeable and provide helpful recommendations for vehicle options based on your needs. They even get the car out of the garage for you. The location is convenient, the vehicles are always new, well-maintained, fun to drive and the overall service is professional and efficient. Highly recommend this branch for anyone needing a rental car in Zurich!”

3. Traserbas Van Services

Contact Details: +41788613550
Business Hours:
- Open 24 Hours Daily
Traserbas, founded in 2011, is a full-service Swiss chauffeur company operating under the CHE-114.018.917 registration. We tried their Mercedes-Benz V-Class for a trip from Zurich to Lucerne, and it honestly felt more like a private tour than a transfer.
Their fleet includes high-end vans like the V-Class and Mercedes Sprinter minibuses. These can seat up to 11 and are complete with bottled water, USB charging ports, and spotless interiors.
But it’s also worth noting that not all experiences have been flawless. A client reported a complete no-show for a Lucerne to Basel booking, and the company did not resolve the issue afterwards. So, if we were you, we’d fix things and clear things out beforehand.
Despite this, we liked the flexibility: no advance payment, no account registration, and free cancellation up to 24 hours before pickup. Same-day bookings were a lifesaver for us when we had to reshuffle plans at the last minute.
The comfort level was on point too. Our driver was punctual, polite, and knew the route well.
Very professional, clean, and punctual
“Dejan is a phenomenal guy who continuously provides excellent service. Very professional, clean, and punctual. We have booked rides with him dozens of times now and it was always 10/10. His service from Basel or Zurich airport beats any regular Taxi service, both in service and price. You will need to search far and wide before you find a limousine service better than this one.”

Remained responsive to all inquiries
“Booked a transfer for our clients from Basel to Zurich. We received a prompt response to our request for quote from Dejan, who remained responsive to all inquiries. Rates are competitive. Payment through secure link was convenient and easy to use. I appreciated the confirmation after the transfer was complete. Would recommend, and trust again for our clients.”

4. Rent a Van

Address: Hohlstrasse 417, 8048
Contact Details: +41444011770
Business Hours:
- Monday to Friday: 8 AM – 6 PM
- Saturday: 8 AM – 12 PM
Rent a Van in Zurich felt like a breath of fresh air. There was no unnecessary fuss, just a solid van rental at some of the lowest rates we’ve found. Their base in Dietikon makes them a handy option for anyone tackling a short-haul move or weekend delivery run.
We loved how their website kept things refreshingly straightforward. We locked in a compact transporter booking in under five minutes. At CHF 89 a day, the rates were honestly some of the most competitive in the city.
Another big plus was that we didn’t need a credit card hold when prepaying. They also throw in straps and blankets to move without adding a cent to the bill.
The staff was accommodating, taking the time to walk us through every control before we hit the road. With options ranging from a Mercedes Vito to a Fiat Ducato, we could see them working for everything from city deliveries to heavier business hauls.
One thing to consider, though, is that their website is vague about key policies like fuel, mileage, and insurance.
No hidden costs, and everything is very clear
“It was an absolute pleasure dealing with Rent-a-Van! Nothing is too much trouble for these guys. They anticipated exactly what we needed and even changed the vehicle on the day of arrival to ensure that we had enough luggage space. There are no hidden costs, everything is very clear. It was super easy on collection and drop-off.
Always friendly to deal with and lovely people in person. Special thanks to Antonio, whom I mostly dealt with prior to our trip, but also the rest of the team, you guys are awesome! I highly, highly recommend Rent-a-Van for vehicle rentals in Zurich.”

Extremely friendly and accommodating
“I have rented this company’s Mercedes Vito van several times. They are always extremely friendly and accommodating. The woman I have dealt with each time, Sonja (I hope I’m spelling that right!) went out of her way to explain the controls of the van when I told her I had never driven a van before. Their prices are extremely competitive. The next time I need a van, I will definitely rent it from Indicar. I can’t recommend them strongly enough.”

5. Lieferwagen Mieten Zürich

Address: Badenerstrasse 580, 8048
Contact Details: +41445559400
Business Hours:
- Monday to Friday: 8 AM – 5:30 PM
- Saturday: 8 AM – 2 PM
- Sunday: 10 AM – 12 PM
Lieferwagen Mieten Zürich is a highly motivated local company, and we loved how straightforward they were. They specialise in transport services, moving materials, and storage solutions.
What stood out was their hourly rental option. You can book a cargo van for as little as two hours starting from CHF 29. They’re also one of the few providers offering Sunday and public holiday rentals, which made our schedule so much easier.
One thing worth noting is that their website doesn’t specify vehicle type or fleet size, unlike other providers who list models like the Fiat Ducato or Mercedes Vito. If knowing exactly what you’ll get matters to you, that might be a drawback.
But the booking was done over email, and within minutes, we got a digital code for a lockbox pickup—no queues. The van came with blankets by default, and they rent out extra gear like straps, ramps, and even eco-friendly moving boxes at very low prices.
The experience was smooth and practical, and we genuinely felt they value customer satisfaction.
The central location was a big plus too, with easy public transport access and customer parking if you’re driving in.
Reliable and offers good prices
“Thanks to the entire Van Rent Zurich team for providing a van at short notice. As always, reliable and good prices. Staircases, pallets, furniture, etc. I can always rent all of this and much more on site. Here’s to continued good cooperation!
Your Marco”
- Marco Scarcia, Google Review
Very customer-friendly with competitive prices
“Great team, accommodating, correct, helpful, friendly and considerate at very customer-friendly, competitive prices. They also show themselves flexible for special services. The vans could perhaps be a little cleaner and the feeling when taking over that perhaps one or more dents had not been noticed could be practiced more clearly. But in any case there are no problems with the return.”
